Dan
Facilities/Transportation Manager
Dan is living proof that hard work, ability and professional growth go hand in hand at U.S. Engineering. He started as a driver for the company back in 1991. Throughout the early years, he worked in the yard, warehouses, tool room and maintenance capacities, and now manages the facilities and transportation needs for the entire Western division, a position he's held for more than 10 years.
Dan coordinates and schedules deliveries, pick-ups and transfers of tools and materials to all our jobsites. He's responsible for ordering material for the jobs and fabrication shops, along with managing a team of 10 employees on the road, in the yard, tool crib and warehouse. He also oversees facility maintenance and repairs, along with those for the division's 200 vehicles, trailers and pieces of equipment. He even does some safety training and tutoring.
"My responsibilities have grown with the company," Dan says. "I've been able to develop my career around learning new and more efficient ways to make my job, and those of the people around me, easier."
Scott Hager, Field Operations Manager, can vouch for that claim. "Dan works daily with nearly every employee in our region," Hager says. "The fact that so many of them rely on him reinforces his value to fellow employees, our company and our customers."
Dan believes his employees and his employer are the best in the industry, a big reason why he enjoys coming to work every day. "I'm proud of being able to change how things were once run into how they currently run today," he says. "That wouldn't be possible without having a great crew that genuinely cares and works hard to help this company be the best."
A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Dan is active in volunteer and mission work for his Loveland-area church. He's also a passionate outdoorsman with a serious need for speed, which he gets in the form of drag and dirt track racing, whether it's in a car, on a motorcycle or ATV.
