Michelle
Senior Project Manager
With more than 26 years in the construction industry, Michelle brings valuable perspective to every project and jobsite, having been involved in all aspects of a construction project.
Prior to joining U.S. Engineering, Michelle was an architect's representative in the field, an estimator/project manager for an insulation subcontractor, then later the same role for a small mechanical contractor, and finally a senior project manager in Kansas City.
"At a smaller firm, the project manager has to wear many hats," Michelle says. "I feel like that experience has made me a well-rounded manager that understands the other trades' scope of work."
Today, her responsibilities including scheduling, purchasing, writing subcontracts, reviewing contracts for scope issues, cost management and document review. More than anything, she says, the job involves managing personnel and subcontractors.
"I spend most of my day talking to the superintendents, subcontractors and clients," Michelle says. "I try to live my life treating people the way I wish to be treated and constantly ask, ‘Is this fair to all concerned?' I work hard to make sure every client, subcontractor or supplier will want to work with U.S. Engineering and with me on future projects."
Michelle has three children and one grandchild. She is a member of the Shawnee (Kansas) Rotary Club and a past member of the City of Shawnee Planning Commission.
