Kyle

Project Engineer

Kyle MasekKyle joined U.S. Engineering after graduating from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2008 with a degree in construction management. Less than a year into the job, his career is developing at a rapid pace.

As a project engineer, he started out processing submittals and writing RFIs. Kyle's responsibilities have increased with experience. He now procures material and equipment, performs take-off and writes change orders, coordinates with subcontractors on job conditions and personnel, and tracks field labor hours and productivity. He also is present at progress meetings and, therefore, has the answers to any questions the general contractor, field superintendents, vendors or subcontractors may have about the job.

Kyle's career development and early success is no surprise to U.S. Engineering, which saw many Core Values on display during the recruitment process. "We were immediately impressed with his overall work ethic, including his ability to work several jobs to fund his own education, gain experience in the construction industry and maintain high academic standards at the same time," says Human Resources Director Rebecca David. "We knew he would be an excellent fit."

For Kyle, it was a matter of economy and efficiency: "I was just proud to finish my degree in four years, and pay for it without having to take out any loans."
