Ford Motor Company CCM Contract
Claycomo Assembly Plant
Kansas City, MO
U.S. Engineering has performed more than $25 million in mechanical and piping construction at the Ford Claycomo Auto Assembly Plant since 1986. We have performed mechanical, piping, plumbing, and associated work in virtually all areas of the plant complex, including paint areas, body shop areas, final assembly areas, and associated facilities for both the passenger car and the commercial pick-up truck.
Ford recently is reducing their supplier base and is going to a single source Construction Commodity Management (CCM) team at each plant to handle all projects under $1 million in size. U.S. Engineering is the mechanical alliance partner CCM contractor at the plant. We are responsible for estimating, scheduling, constructing and starting up projects in full coordination with the alliance team and the Ford Claycomo staff.
Our scope includes mechanical, process piping, utility piping, plumbing, HVAC systems and similar work for paint systems (paint circulation and mix room; phosphate/e-coat; ovens; paint booths, automatic paint spray equipment-robotics, bells), conveyor and material handling systems, and other assembly equipment, presses and facilities.
Our work also includes numerous projects during two-week shutdowns every summer and winter. Shutdown work is performed in congested areas throughout the plant and requires meeting critical schedules. Timely performance, safety and quality workmanship are absolutely paramount.
