Hoeschst Marion Roussel T3 Products Granulation Train
Kansas City, Missouri
The T3 project was the first train to be done in transforming the HMR Kansas City pharmaceutical production site from a series of individual processing rooms aligned functionally (granulation, compression, etc.) into a series of "process trains." T3 consisted of 11,600 new square feet of actual process space in a two-story addition and 40,900 square feet of total construction space. U.S. Engineering performed the mechanical, process piping, high-purity piping, plumbing, HVAC and equipment installation.
This was a pharmaceutical project that required working in a GMP environment and performing orbital welding for the high-purity piping on the USP purified water system. A key design feature was the minimizing of "white space" support utilities and equipment, which were placed in adjacent service corridors running the length of the train.
