Vestas Blade Manufacturing Facility
Windsor, CO

Vestas uses this 390,000-square-foot manufacturing and office complex for the production of 135-foot carbon composite blades used in the booming wind power industry. U.S. Engineering was selected to the design-assist team through a competitive bid process.

The 23,000-square-foot paint building on the site includes a 160-foot  laminar flow paint booth, each with two 115-SCFM air compressors and one 1,000-CFM dust collector.

Some of our scope of work in the main plant included two each 520-SCFM air compressors, associated receivers and Transair piping for plant use, as well as four each 2,000-CFM dust-collection systems.  These systems were piped around the entire plant and connected to various owner-furnished equipment.
