U.S. Engineering completed three central utility projects for the Nashville District Energy System. The three projects included the Symphony Hall, Viridian Towers and Beverly Briley.

Approximately 6,500 linear feet of high-pressure steam, condensate and chilled water was installed at depths ranging from 3 to 14 feet. Steam piping ranged in size from 6 to 8 inches, and chilled water from 10 to 20 inches. The Symphony Hall project included installing three precast 12-inch-deep manholes for valve and future tie points. The Viridian Towers project included making tie-ins to an existing bored tunnel in solid rock through a vertical-cored shaft approximately 60 feet, with tie-ins involved at 20 inches on 24-inch taps made during system-wide shutdown. The Beverly Briley project included piping in two manholes that connected with each end of a horizontal tunnel.
