Kansas Speedway
Kansas City, Kansas
Kansas City, Kansas, brought big-time auto racing to the Midwest when the magnificent 1.5-mile tri-oval speedway was completed in June 2001. The Kansas Speedway has a 75,000-seat grandstand (with construction considerations to double the seating capacity in the future), 68 suites, and 40 individual buildings housing concessions, garages, medical facilities and other support functions. U.S. Engineering was a prime contractor in a joint venture for the concourse concession facilities and performed the HVAC and plumbing directly. We also performed the HVAC and plumbing for the suites in the administration building.
U.S. Engineering and Allied MBE formed a minority joint venture company to perform the concourse concessions package as a prime contractor. U.S. Engineering utilized our Kansas City fabrication shops for the prefabrication of plumbing and piping components that enhanced the schedule and allowed efficient fit up in the field.
