Livestrong Sporting Park
Kansas City, KS

LIVESTRONG Sporting Park is the sparkling new home of Sporting Kansas City, the city’s Major League Soccer franchise. U.S. Engineering was selected as the mechanical contractor for the $200 million state-of-the-art soccer facility built by Turner Construction.

The 365,000-square-foot, 18,500-seat stadium is located at the Village West retail development and sits adjacent to Kansas Speedway, as well the team’s former home, a recently constructed 10,000-seat baseball stadium it shared with the Kansas City T-Bones minor league team.

This soccer-specific venue can also host up to 25,000 spectators for concerts and other events. An ascending spiral roof canopy covers all seating to meet FIFA (soccer’s global governing body) standards for weather protection.

Playing conditions on the natural grass surface are enhanced by a forced-air heating and cooling system, which provides optimal growing conditions throughout Sporting Kansas City’s eight-month MLS season. The HVAC system consists of rooftop units, VAV AHUS with dx condensing units for the locker rooms and Members Club, split-system fan coil units for all suites, and a glycol dry cooler system for the scoreboard and IT rooms.
