Sprint World Headquarters Campus
Buildings 4, 6, 7, 15, 16 and 17
Overland Park, KS
The massive Sprint World Headquarters Campus is comprised of 3.9 million square feet in 22 buildings for 14,500 area employees that were consolidated from 35 different locations into a campus community.
U.S. Engineering Company was the mechanical contractor for:
- Building 4 - Technology Center containing 375,000 square feet, of which 40,000 square feet is the state-of-the-art Technology Lab and Research Development area
- Building 6 - Headquarters with 245,000 square feet of executive office space
- Building 7 - Fitness Center
- Building 15 - Conference Center and office, totaling 200,000 square feet
- Building 16 & 17 - Office space, 200,000 square feet per building
At the time, this project was the single largest active commercial construction project in the country. U.S. Engineering was awarded Buildings 7 and 16 on a hard bid basis, but negotiated the next four buildings on a fee and GMP arrangement while participating in preconstruction and construction as the mechanical team member. U.S. Engineering exceeded the MBE/WBE requirements by teaming with select subcontractors. The Service Department is currently providing maintenance and service work for the Sprint Campus.
