U.S. Engineering Company provided mechanical construction management services for the $800 million, 4.5 million-square-foot facility. The complex includes a 5,014 room hotel (the world's largest), a 170,000-square-foot casino, in portions of the project. The casino entry is an eight-story, 30,000-square-foot replica of the Emerald City featured in "The Wizard of Oz."
Typical guest rooms average 450 square feet. Seven-hundred-thirty suites range in size from 650 to 6,000 square feet with outdoor Jacuzzis and other world-class amenities.
Building systems included:
- A total of 12,000 tons of cooling capacity was produced
- Approximately 2 million pounds (1,000 tons) of fabricated sheet metal ductwork were installed
- U.S. Engineering completed plumbing for 750 rooms per month
- Mechanical work was done for facility support areas such as kitchens, restaurants, shops and two, 3,500-seat movie theaters
